Thorson to Finish Midget Season Aboard Trench Shores #25m

INDIANAPOLIS (September 21, 2020) - Tanner Thorson will be piloting the #25m Trench Shoring team car alongside their current driver, Chase Johnson for the remainder of the 2020 season. Thorson is currently sitting fourth in the NOS Energy Drink points standings, with the USAC National Midgets. The former National Midget Champion recently vacated the seat of the #19 with Hayward Motorsports.

“I am looking forward to ending this year strong with Tom Malloy and Jerome Rodela. Chase has been fast in their cars and I’m hoping to be able to add to their speed. They have great equipment and we are both eager to continue the success,” Thorson stated. Crew Chief, Jerome Rodela had some positive words to say, “it’s going to be rad! I’m looking forward to the addition of Tanner and seeing what our team can accomplish.”

Thorson will be behind the wheel of the #25m beginning this Friday and Saturday as the NOS Energy Drink USAC National Midget Series heads to Gas City I69 Speedway and Kokomo Speedway this weekend.

“Jerome Rodela, the teams crew chief, called me last week and told me Tanner was available,” said car owner Tom Malloy. "Jerome asked if I would want to put him in our car, and knowing what I do about Tanner’s talent, I couldn’t resist. I’m excited to have Tanner and Chase representing the Malloy Family and Trench Shoring Company.”

With just over ten national midget races remaining, Thorson is well within the realm of claiming another Championship. Thorson is currently 105 points behind leader Chris Windom heading into Friday’s race at Gas City.
